Somerset College Inter-House Chess, August 2010

Senior Inter-House Competition

Andrews have ended Franklin’s domination of the senior inter-house competition with a convincing win last Friday. All 6 members of the Andrews team, plus their two reserves have a rating of 1000+. There would be very few schools in Australia with 8 players rated 1000+, let alone from one house! Well done to Jonas Muller, Molly McGarity, Alan Lam, Calvin Zhang, Maxine Tan and Henry Leef.

Double points were awarded on Friday to add to the points scored in the participation event during term 2.

Primary Inter-House Competition

Franklin won the primary comp on count-back from Andrews. The match between Franklin and Andrews finished 3-3, with two closely contested draws ultimately deciding the competition. Kevin Song and Anneliese McConnell held on grimly for draws in losing positions.
