Gold Coast Primary Schools teams championships

North Region
A grade St Francis Xavier have won the North region in round one of the 2006 Gold Coast Primary Schools Teams Championship. They won on tie-break from Coombabah State School. Both teams get promoted to the Championship grade for round two in May. Third was Guardian Angels. Individually Teancum Wihongi came first on tie-break from Daniel Durden.
B grade
Coomera State School came first from Biggera Waters and Bellevue Park. C grade St Hildas came first from St Francis Xavier and Arundel State School. Championship Grade
Somerset College have scored 26/28 to win round one of
the Gold Coast Primary Schools Teams Championship from
All Saints (McCarthy) and Kings Christian (McGarity)
both on 17.5. Board prizes were won by: 1. Kelvin Finke
7, 2. Alex Arase 6, 3. Kantley Wu 7, 4. Sophie Tan

A grade
All Saints (Tan) came first on 23, from St Vincent's (Brockwell) on 22.5 and the two Silkwood Steiner teams (Staypleton and Evans) on 21. Ryan Brockwell came first individually in this grade with 7.5/8 followed by Masa Oi on 7.
B grade
St Vincent's (Scott) came first on 25, followed by Worongary (Carroll) on 22.5, and then two more Worongary teams (Brilley and Ijurco) on 21.5. Individually Levi Brilley came first on countback from Lachlan Glaves, both scoring 7/8.
C grade
Benowa (Smith) came first on 21, followed by Trinity (Thompson) on 20.5 and Robina (Hume) on 20. Individually Rhys Saunders scored a perfect 8/8, followed by Xavier Thompson on 7. |

A Grade
The Somerset (Critchley) team won the A grade competition with a score of 22/28, followed by Hillcrest (Bassett) on 19 on tie-break from Kings (Nijskens) also on 19. Individually Gene Nakauchi scored a picket fence 7/7 to take first place from Jay Kaspar and Vlad Dobroskok on 6.
B Grade
The Somerset (Cheung) team won with a score of 19/28 from Varsity (Simpson) on 18.5 and Kings (Godfrey) on 17.5. Individually Alan Brown came first with a score of 6.5/7 followed by Jayden Stewart and Alex King on 6.
C Grade
The Somerset (Abedian) team scored 21.5/28 to win from Pacific Pines (Scott) on 18.5 and Varsity (Jung) on 18. Individually Ethan McCoach won with 6.5/7 from Shane Quine and Matthew Roberts on 6. |
