Term 3

Matthew Pyper has won the term 3 Junior Masters competition, after defeating Kevin Song in the lightning play-off. Kevin had defeated Matthew in their group game, but later lost to Daniel Nowshadi, who finished in third place.

Matthew then followed up by scoring a picket fence 9/9 in the Junior Masters Lightning competition to finish the term. His victims included guest players Andrew Fitzpatrick and WIM Alexandra Jule. A very impressive performance in blitz chess.

Term 2

Ben Taylor has convincingly won the T2 Junior Masters competition with a picket fence 6/6. Well done Ben! His win against Matthew Pyper, who won the term one event, was critical. Well done also to Zayne Clarkson who recovered from a shock first round loss to finish third.
