Junior Masters 2010
Term 4
| Zac Clarkson has won the
term 4 junior masters convincingly with a score of 6.5/7. He had one
draw with Daniel Nowshadi. This is a very fine result for Zac, who finishes grade 12 this term. It was great to see him winning the junior masters for the first time at his last opportunity, especially as he is dependent on the use of a braille board. Matthew Pyper finished second on 5 and Jake Pyper third on 4.5. There were 20 players. The big improvers this year were Daniel Nowshadi, Ben Mason, Matthew Pyper and Kevin Song. |

In B grade Joshua Russell put in an astonishing performance in his first effort. Despite being almost the lowest rated player, he won the event with 5.5/6, from Daniel Nowshadi in second place and Ben Mason third.
As usual, the term finished with a Junior Masters Lightning
event, which was won by Alex Stahnke from Matthew
Pyper, and a four-way tie for third between Joshua
Russell, Jason Dinh, Michael Bouchaud and Kevin Song.
We are very grateful for the valuable support given by Alex Stahnke's dad Axel over the years that Alex has been playing in this event. Thanks so much Axel! Thanks too to our coaches Alex Jule and Sam Grigg for their great help.
