Gold Coast Junior Championships, April 2010
Results

Daniel Lapitan has deservedly won the Gold Coast Junior
Championships for 2010. He defeated strong juniors Alex
Stahnke and Yi Liu, and dropped only a draw to
Oliver McCarthy. This could be a breakthrough win for
Daniel, and may well give him the confidence to compete with the
top players at Queensland and Australian level. There were 28
players.
The Under 8s tournament was held as a separate one day
competition. There was a three-way tie for first place, with
Tony Zhong winning from Harrison McConnell and
Denali Durden, all scoring 6/8. There were 20 players.
