Term 4 Junior Masters

 
Alex Stahnke has won the term 4 junior masters after a lightning play-off with Kees Huband-Lint. Kees had defeated Alex in their individual match, and continued to show that he is the most improved player in the region. This was Alex's third junior masters win of the year. He also won the lightning event on the final night for the term.

Term 3

A Grade B Grade Lightning

 

Alex Stahnke has won the term 3 Junior Masters convincingly, dropping just two draws. He also won the junior masters lightning on the final night. This continues a stellar year for Alex, who is one of the strongest players in the nation for his age.
 
A Grade: 13 players

1st Alex Stahnke 7/8, 2nd Keith Chan 5.5, 3rd Alex Arase 5.

B Grade: 10 players 

1st Jamie Burt 6.5/8, 2nd Isaac Deboer 6, 3rd Zayne Clarkson 5.5.

Term 2

Alex Stahnke has won the Term 2 Junior Masters with a picket fence 6/6. His win included victories against strong second, third and fourth placegetters Sam Grigg, Sebastian Jule and Caleb Eriksson. This was Alex's first win in the Junior Masters, and reflects his excellent recent form. Well done Alex!
 
In B Grade, Alon Asaf confirmed his status as the fastest improving junior on the Gold Coast with a convincing win, scoring 5.5/6. He was followed by Alex Jack and Jamie Burt, who have both shown a very good attitude this term.

Lightning (Week 9)

 

Gene Nakauchi has won the Junior Masters for term one with a score of 7/8, losing only to Sebastian Jule, who finished second.

In B Grade Jake Pyper finished first with 6.5/8. Alex Jack was a big improver with 6, and he was followed by Cooper Ladlow and Samuel Mainwood on 5. 28 juniors participated.

As has become a tradition, a lightning event was held on the last week of term, with some adults joining in to add a bit of strength.

IM Peter Froehlich finished first on 10/11, losing only to WIM Alex Jule. Jonas Muller, Alex Stahnke and Gene Nakauchi finished second on 8.
