Gold Coast Rapid Championship 2008

 

Jonas Muller has won the Gold Coast Rapid Championship by the narrowest of tie break margins. He scored 5/6, with Daniel Ford 2nd and John Wu (aka Zhicong Wu) 2nd and 3rd also on 5. Daniel Ford was a little unlucky, having scored an excellent win over veteran David Lovejoy in the final round. FM Gene Nakauchi, the top seed, was defeated on this occasion by both David Lovejoy and Tyson Walker.   Rating group prizes were won by: A Alex Stahnke B Knight Kulkaew C Abbie Kanagarajah D Jake Pyper E Dean Taylor   31 players participated
