FM Gene Nakauchi has
won the term one junior masters with a perfect score of 7/7.
Well done Gene! Second was Jonas Muller with 5, and
third Sam Grigg with 4.5. Sebastian Jule
continued his big improvement by defeating Jonas Muller in
the last round. Martin Jack, fresh from his victory
over Kevin Casey on Sunday, nearly defeated Sam Grigg,
ending up with a very commendable draw. Both Martin Jack and
Daniel Lapitan proved in this event that they are
very big prospects.
In B Grade, Zac
Clarkson, who has never even won C Grade, won the event
with a win in every game he played. With the half point bye
earlier in the event, he finished on 6.5/7. This was a great
result by Zac, and demonstrates his considerable improvement
in recent months. Well done Zac! Luke Toda finished
second on 4.5, with several players finishing on 4.
In C Grade, Kees
Huband-Lint was the very convincing winner on 6/5/7.
Kees also has been a very big improver over the last few
months. Well done Kees! Timothy Jo finished second on
5.5, with Sam Barrett third on 4.5.
In
total, 41 students participated in the term one junior
masters.
A big thank you to our coaches - Peter Froehlich, Nicole Kunze and Alex Jule - and to the patient parents who had some long waits for their kids! |
