Sam Grigg is the Gold Coast Active Champion for 2007. He deservedly won the event, having played the most solid and determined chess all day. Sam came first on tie-break from Luke Toda in second and Alex Stahnke third place.

Luke Toda was the surprise packet of the tournament, defeating Caleb Eriksson (with an excellent attack) and Sebastian Jule.
