Kevin Casey (left) retained his Gold Coast Rapid Championship title with a picket fence 6/6 today. He provided a good target for a host of the Gold Coast's best juniors, but although Kelvin Finke (right) gave Kevin a genuine battle, it was clear that the juniors still have a bit of a gap to bridge.

Gene Nakauchi (below) also had an excellent event, dropping only the one point to Casey in the last round.

Many thanks to the adults for playing as usual, as they never have much to gain against rapidly improving juniors.
