Term One 2006
|
Super Junior Masters Gene Nakauchi has confirmed his amazing talent with a strong win in the Super Junior Masters for Term One. He scored 7.5/9 in this 10 player round-robin, with his only defeat to Molly McGarity and a draw with Daniel Ford. Second was Daniel Ford on 6.5 on countback from Jessica Kinder. This was an excellent competition, with almost all games going to over 3 hours. It was pleasing to see a good variety of openings in use, and plenty of dynamic play.
Gene gained his first
Queensland Junior rating of 664 in September 2004, and now
has a Queensland Junior rating of 1462!

Junior Masters
Kieton Beilby has
finally decided to show his talent, and he did this by
showing plenty of commitment in winning the Junior Masters
with a score of 7/8. Well done Kieton.
Eric Ng also continued his rapid improvement by coming second on 6, with Cameron Thompson third on 5.5. Unfortunately Cameron had to miss the final round due to other commitments. Two other big improvers, Aki Matsui and Alan Lam, also scored 5.5. There was plenty of talent on show in this event, with some of the younger players needing just a little more experience before advancing further.
