2005 Australian Primary Schools Teams Chess Championship

The Somerset College team comprising Kelvin Finke, Jonas Muller, Brendan Baker and Kantley Wu won the national primary inter-schools final in Sydney on the weekend. Second were Essex Heights and third Sydney Grammar. A final round draw by Kelvin Finke against the number one primary schools player in Australia, Raymond Song made the difference.

In the other divisions, Brisbane State High came second in the all girls high schools event, Somerville House third in the all girls primary schools event and Somerset College fourth in the open high schools event.
