Mudgeeraba Creek Primary School Championship 2004

Jonas Muller has won the inaugural Mudgeeraba Creek School Championship by the narrowest of margins from Molly McGarity. Both players had the same score of 7/8, and the same first tie-break, but Jonas was just ahead on second tie-break.

It was obvious that the 47 players taking part in this new tournament really enjoyed themselves. Many of the children were very much at home at the chess centre, having attended after school chess there regularly over the last 18 months since we opened. We were delighted with the high standard of chess and the excellent sportsmanship and good behaviour shown by all of them. Mudgeeraba Creek is likely to go far in its chess endeavours!
