Gold Coast Junior Championships this weekend 6/7 May at the Chess Centre, 11 Hardys Road Mudgeeraba

Our apologies for the recent batch of email bulletins with extra information, but we though it important to advise of a change regarding the Gold Coast Junior Champs this weekend.

The under 8s (kids under 8 on 1 Jan 2006) will now be held just on Sunday 7 May from 10am and should finish by 4pm. All other events (under 10, 12, 14, 16 and 18) will still be held over Saturday and Sunday commencing at 9.15am each day.

Kids under 8 have a choice of trying the longer games by entering the under 10s, or playing shorter games and trying to do well in the under 8s. If they play in the under 8s, they will only play other kids under 8. But if they play in the under 10s, they will be playing in a swiss tournament with the older kids as well. If playing in the under 8s only on Sunday, the entry fee is reduced to $20.

We hope to have a very good turnout on the weekend for this popular championship event for juniors, which is open to kids who live anywhere.
